I do not agree with you I have two pitbulls and they have never hurt anyone they are loving and friendly dogs. I have a rednose and a blue neither one has ever shown aggresstion. It is all in how they are rasied. Do not judge them because there are evil people out there that raise them to fight. Have you ever owned one I bet the answer is no. You judge them and don't know them. It is just like being rasist you need to look at all sides not all pitbulls are bad i love my dogs and I would not trade them for anything, people that have met my dogs love them. Please dont judge the dog judge the people that abuse them. people like you really need to grow up and come up with a better solution. Even when guarding their home you should be able to tell them be nice and they'll stop. Well bred ones are very smart and those are the only kind that should be around. I say make a way to make sure these dogs get in the right hands and don't punish the the dogs and the people who are doing everything right. PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED.

I was once believed that only dog that were mistreated were vicious until, my sweet family pet bit someone. The same loving pet that I kissed and loved. I would not have believed it if I had not seen it for my self. My husban works for the fire dept., he went on a call involving a child that had been mauled by a Pit Bull and was trying to attack another man. The animal control officer that had not seen the attacks came and caught the dog, she but her arms around the dog and gave it a hug. People just don't understand that these dogs can flip a switch so fast. These dogs also have much stronger jaws than most dogs, sure any dog can bite but the results are not the same. It is the BREED AND THE DEED. I don't believe in a bann but I do believe we need some sort of control. This breed is responsible for more fatalities than any other breed. Is it possible that people that own these dogs just happen to be more irresponsible dog owners? If not than explain why studys show Pit Bulls (mostly males) are responsible for more fatalities than any other breed? Why did Germany, New Zealand, parts of Canada and a few other countrys bann these dogs I guess they must know something?

I don't think Pitbulls should be banned. It isn't their fault how they are raised and treated by some of their owners. I bet if anybody would look in on they ones that did the mauling most of the Pitbulls were either chained up or kenneled most of their lives without a lot of human contact. This is the most rediculous thing I have ever read in my life, I think people should read more about pit bulls, I owned pit bnulls and no other breed since I was Two years old now I have three children and five pits without a single incident.

American German Shepards are the laughing stock of the GSD world. That is why police departments and such usually only import their dogs straight from Germany where higher standards in breeding are required. The "american" counterpart has way to amny health problems, temperment issues etc. IT is STUPID PEOPLE that should be banned.
I have been raising and breeding APBTs for over 20 years now. I HAVE NEVER been bitten, threatened nor have my children or grand childen ever been.
(granted they have a very powerfull bite) I would choose an APBT over any other breed out there. (and I am also an obedience instructor)

I don't take to kindly of people putting down American German Shepherds, I own four of them and two of them are herding dogs and the other two are in the show ring. They have very good temperment and they have no health problems. All medium to big breeded dogs have hip and elbow problems so don't go throwing bad thing on a breed when you don't no nothing about them.

i know that we all hav our rights to voice our opinion ....but i disaggre i have to wonderful pitbulls they were and still our fateful dogs..many people raise this dogs to be the way some are...is not there fault..just because one is bad doesnt mean all are bad too...you should banned the people that make them they way their are...that fights them kill them abuse them ..they have feelings to...

pitbulls are victoms of their own stigma . yes the breed CAN be trained to fight but so can any other . yes , the breed has the
ability to bite and not let go , but , it got that in the early 1600s from its cousen the bull dog when they were used in bate hunting .
i have seen jack russells , shitzu's , poodles that were more vicious than pit's . in fact it is shown that most people attacked by
a dog could not tell of it's specific breed . most dog attacks are fast and the person goes into shock . and it has been proven that
most attacks are blamed on a "pitbull breed" there is only one pittbull breed and that is the american pitbull terrier . These dogs
are known for there high tolerince for pain ( which makes them great with kids and their antics " i know becouse i have bolth ".)
and most often enough my son gets in more trouble than my dog . and more importantly their undieing wanting to please there
master and do good . unfortunely there are thoughs that take advantage of this but a pit in a good home makes for a great
companion .
these dogs are best fit for an active family who hikes , camps , hunts , runs , ect .... it is truely the breed of breeds . they are
a working dog that well never quite on you and thinks family first .
on dog attacks , most of them can be put to bad judgement by the victom or the owner and rarely on the dog it's self . look at the
sercomstances . i can think of one were an five year old girl got her arm rippedof by two rot's . now at first glance you go , WHERE
WAS THE OWNER !? WHAT HORRIBLE DOGS!! BUT, the dogs were in there kennel , on privite property , with signs . were the heck
was the girls perents . how the heck did an five year old girl get on privite property bye her self . yes it is sad that she died from
her wounds but what kind of perents let their five year old daughter out of site . the dogs were doing what came natural to them .

most dog attacks can be avoided by simply applying commen sense and teaching your kids good dog manners .
1. never aprotch a dog that doesn't know you well .

2. never discipline a dog that isn't your's I.E. swat , slap , force , ect.

3. remember that dogs are a pack animal and well show dominance if you show fear or agression " go with non agression
avoidence " pay no attention and avoid the dogs area . do not look at the dog .

4. if a dog does attack you square your shoulders to the dog in a wrestlers stance , when the dog goes for you fall backwards to
the ground bringing the dog in the gaurd position . ( you on bottom with your legs strattling the dog's waist line ) try to get
control of the dog's head if the dog is wearing a collor grab the back and push the dog's head up in the air .
do not try to run . you give the dog the advantage by running away and they run much faster than you do .

5. no dog is born mean . it takes a mean owner to do it so blame them .

I recently wouldn't have had much of an opion on this matter either way. Yesterday I was walking my girlfriends Boston Terrier when we crossed paths with a pitbull. Just as fast as we could cross paths, the pitbull lashed out, clamping down onto the side of "Bentley's" face. The construction of a pitbull's jaw enables it to "lock" onto it's prey. This is what these animals genetic codes enable them to do. Finally after 3 or 4 minutes of the dog owner violently beating on his dog, and myself prying....to get "Bentley" free....and after I myself had gotten bitten in the hand, was finally able to get the dog free. Would this have happened if this dog were say a......"golden lab????" .......Possibly, but it wasn't a golden lab.....it was pitbull. For the people who say that this could have happened with any dog. I would say to them. True. But here's a test for you.
If you have children....or if not, pretend that you do. Your child is 4 years old, and has a hand full of dog food.....chained to a tree in the park is a golden retreiver, and a pitbull. Your child must pick one dog to give the food to, out of his/her hand. Which dog will you persuede your child to go up to. They must pick one. Why not the pitbull?? I thought it didn't matter. Pitbull attacks can be prevented....I'm sure of that. But do you wear your seatbelt on the way to work?? Why?? Chances are you won't get into an accident. Just being careful?? Now if you could ensure yourself that you would be 100% invoulnerable to an accident wouldn't you do that?? And would you still wear your seatbelt?? Probably not. So why even have that chance exist? Chances are the pitbull won't attack, but I know a way to make absolutely sure it doesn't.....get rid of it. There are hunderds of breeds of dogs out there. I see no benifit to having one of these animals.
So to the people who say...."Hey, that's not fair!!...You're profiling a certain type of dog!!".....damn straight. And the next time you cross one on the sidewlak. Bend down. Pet the little bugger. Give it a kiss. Scratch his belly. Let your kids pet it. Why not??? They're just the same as any other dog. Aren't they???

To say All Pitt Bulls Should Be Banned is an ignorant statement.
Pitt Bulls were once thought of as Friendly and Faithful dogs untill a few bad OWNERS (who should never own ANY animal by the way) trained their dogs to be agressive and fight. Pitt Bulls are wonderful, fantastic and amazing dogs very friendly and LOVE POSITIVE ATTENTION AND AFFECTION.
