I'll second that, and anyway there are so many differences, even a high level would take forever - definitely download the demo

After trying out (buying) GalCiv 2 (and later the expansion pack) I haven't gone back to GC1.

I prefer 1 but 2 is good too...there's just too much micromanagement in 2...(1 was at the limit).
